Dr Richard Tyser
Richard Tyser is a Group Leader at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, University of Cambridge. He received his PhD from the University College London, investigating how the onset of cardiac function influences differentiation during early heart development. Richard then moved to the University of Oxford to start a postdoc in the group of Professor Shankar Srinivas exploring the emergence of cardiac progenitors and their contribution to the heart following gastrulation. During this time, he identified a novel cardiac progenitor population and characterized cell types during human gastrulation. In 2022, Richard moved to Cambridge to setup a research group studying mammalian heart development.
